We are in place for this summer...Michigan! Nice trip to get here, only took five days on the road. I admit, I got distracted by my new technology each morning. My Kindle Fire is a fab way to get the news, email, updates, play a lil Solitaire, and surf the web. I posted text messages to the family each day so they know our locations. I always specified to them NOT to pay any ransoms for us...we are always prepared with a back-up plan.

The Commodore, Bella (our rescue French Bulldog), and I FINALLY left the Dallas area on Sunday afternoon. We had planned to stay with my Sissie in AR from Friday until Monday morning. Best laid plans have a way of getting changed when I realized packing for six months on the road was more time consuming than I had allowed! When we get home, I think I better start that LIST for the next adventure within a week of arrival! It took me several days after coming off the road to go through the plastic bags I had tossed in items and the Commodore had loaded in the RV.

The Commodore had planned the trip and made all reservations for the camp facilities along the way. We didn't have any snags in our reservations. The Commodore is great at planning our adventures!

So here we are at River Valley RV Park, several miles out of Gladwin, Michigan. A beautiful area, super fine park with great people. We are very blessed to be staying and working at this campground. The Commodore has his own fleet of boats and bikes owned by the park. Folks go to the store (directly across from our location) to pay for rentals then call them out to him on the radio. He spends Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM near the docks to assist the renters in "shoving off or landing". Memorial Weekend included Monday with the same hours for him. During the week he is busy with cleaning and maintenance for the "fleet". He says he survived Memorial Weekend!

I work in the camp store on Monday and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 AM, 2:00-3:00 PM, and 7:00-8:00PM. We think we have a great gig until after Labor Day Weekend! During our days off, Tuesday and Wednesdays, I am excited about exploring Michigan. Next week we hope to travel to the Mackinaw Bridge area. Pictures will be posted!

Journeys are about making new memories. These "Honkers" or geese flew in and landed at the pond at the Park on a military base in Indiana we camped for two nights.
